PHGA REGULAR BOARD MEETING

FEBRUARY 19, 2009

 

At the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the PHGA, held on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Palatine Hills Clubhouse, the following Directors were present:

Absent: Rick Hapanowicz, John Helpap, Gary Schwietz (preparing for colonoscopy), Mark Schranz, and Brian Yantis.

 

Members in attendance: Derrell Gilstrap (software advisor), Jim Nolan

I.       CALL TO ORDER

A.     Bob Bem called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.

II.    ACCEPTANCE OF THE MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 4, 2008 MEETING

A.     The Minutes were presented by Ken Mattuck and approved.

III. TREASURER’S REPORT

A.     Joe Saccomanno presented the year end financial report. All line items were reviewed and reconciled.

B.     A year end cash balance of $893.00 was reported

C.     Joe Saccomanno said that there may be an outstanding  processing charge of $500.00 from the Palatine Hills Golf Course

D.     The Financial Report was approved.

E.      Dues were discussed and they will be $50.00 per year unless paid by May 1, 2009, then they will be $40.00.

 

IV.  COMMITTEE REPORTS

A.     PARK DISTRICT

1.      Bob Alexander reported that the 2009 Palatine Resident Card will cost $10.00.

 

                        2.   Bob Alexander thanked the Board Members for their attendance at the                                           Palatine Park District’s Volunteers of the Year Award Luncheon.

 

                        3.   Bob Alexander reported that Raul needs volunteers for both the Special                              Olympics and the Chamber of Commerce Outings.

B.     SCORING AND HANDICAP

1.      Doug James reported that the current scoring software, with some revisions, will be used in 2009.

2.      The Memorial Day Event, 4th of July Event, Club Championship, Labor Event, and the TCTB scores will be changed to Tournament Scores. They will be shown with a “T” after the score.

3.      It was decided that if a player quits after playing only 9 holes, unless for medical reasons, his score will be recorded as a Partial Round as per USGA Guidelines and will be recorded with a “P” after the score. These partial rounds will be used for qualifying rounds for the TCTB but will not be used for the Pot Games. The entry fee will not be refunded.

 

V.     NEW BUSINESS

A.     2009 Committee Assignments were reviewed.

B.     Scoring

1.      Rounds required to qualify for the TCTB will remain the same.

C.     Miscellaneous

1.      Rick Hapanowicz received the Palatine Park District “Volunteer of the Year Award” at the Annual Luncheon.

2.      Items tabled until the next Board Meeting

a)      The 2009 Spring Scramble.

b)      Travel events for 2009.

c)      Lunches for Holiday Events.

 

 

VI.  ADJOURNMENT

A.     The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
