Call to Order:  Gary Schweitz called the meeting to order at 7pm

 

  1. Minutes:         Feb. 19th, March 19th meeting minutes were read. 

                             Revisions were made to each report.

 

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report:  Report was presented by Joe S.  All line items were reviewed and approved.

 

 

  1. Park District Report:  Presented by Bob A.  No GPS units will be installed in carts this year.

 

  1. New Member Liaison:  Larry N. reported 10 new members signed up at the Spring Smoker.  The $1000 Takahashi memorial fund will be used for landscape items at the course.  Larry N. will work with Greg on those items.

 

 

  1. Golf Course Liaison and Weekend Pot Games:  Larry N. will speak to Dan re environmental signs in the environmental areas.  POT GAME PLAY FOR PHGA MEMBERS WITHOUT A PRST STARTING TIME:  Any Paid PHGA Members not having a PRST permanent starting time on Saturday or Sunday during the regular PRST period (4/25/2009 through 9/6/2009 Excluding Holidays and Special Events) interested in participating in the POT Game (Saturday or Sunday) must secure a tee time for play between opening start time and 11:30 am.  Play must be from designated tees, follow PHGA rules for the day of play and at LEAST TWO PAID PHGA MEMBERS PLAY IN THE SAME GROUP.  Score cards not turned in by 4:30pm will not be accepted for the day(s) event.

 

  1. Scoring and Handicap:  Doug J. reported that the computer code for “walk-offs”will be changed in a few days.  There is no program in place for playing from the White tees (Women).

 

 

  1. Rules of Play Committee:  Lift clean and place in the fairway will be in effect for this weekend pot games

 

 

  1. Handicap Committee:  No report was presented

 

 

 

 

  1.  GEM Committed:  An email was sent to the membership regarding new GEM rules for 2009.  These rules will be in place for all tournaments. 

 

 

  1. Match Play Event:  Bob M. reported sign up has been slow this year.  The sign up envelope will be located in the Pro Shop.  Ideal number of players is 48.

 

 

  1. Spring Smoker:  Jim T. reported that members who attended the Smoker were very pleased with the variety of food and how well organized the event was.  22 pizza’s and 29 pitchers of beer were served.

 

 

  1. Travel Events Committee:   Eight members have signed up for the Bartlett Hills Travel Event.

 

 

 

  1. New Business Clean Up and Tabled Items:  Non-Permanent Tee time PHGA members can be included in weekend Pot Games provided they play with 2 PHGA members and they tee off by 11:30am on Saturday or Sunday.  Payment for the Pot Game must be made in the Pro Shop.  The number of Rounds required each year for Full Handicap Status was tabled and will be reviewed at the next board meeting.  Negotiation for Memorial Day sandwiches needs to be completed.  Refunds for Travel events need to be reviewed with Bob Bem.
