PHGA Board Meeting Thursday September 10, 2009

Meeting called to order at 6:04 PM by Gary Schweitz
Board minutes From August 13, 2009 were read and approved.
Treasurers Report – Joe reported 4 people did not pay for PHGA events, and $52 was returned based on a DQ in an event. 34 teams paid for the Takahashi Classic, the treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.
Park District Report – Bob reported the Palatine Hills Club Championship and Takahashi Classic were discussed by the park board and their comments were positive. Clubhouse renovations were discussed and will remain on the list of potential expenditures. PHGA participation in the Club championship was 42 vs. 36 non members.
Scoring – Doug indicated all is well with scoring and the handicaps were updated for the TCTB. Derrell will look at the program to see if he can account for a DQ policy.
Handicap Committee – Mike and Rick reported no current issues with handicaps.
Golf Course Liaison- Ken reported that Raul indicated the green rollers and a new mower to handle the 1st cut of rough will be requested in the 2010 budget.
Rules Of Play Committee – John indicated the ball will be played down if there are no weather events before the Takahashi Classic, it was determined USGA rules would apply with the Environmental areas playable as a lateral hazard.
Labor Day Tournament – Scott and Bill reported no issues, again there was no delay or problem with stroke and distance penalties.
Additional Business – John reported the John Dempster plaque was ordered. It was announced that Ken Mattuck will be the Park District Liaison next year, Rick Hapanowicz will be the scorekeeper. Adhoc pot games will continue till the end of the year with Ken/Scott on Saturday, Doug Sunday scoring.
Rick reported that his scoring program is ready. The Takahashi Classic will have 35 teams, it will be necessary to split the last team unless a proxy is found to play with them, a request will be emailed to the members.
